The regens seem to be working perfectly. As soon as I see a regen kicking off I take the car to the motorway for a quick blast. If it happens at an inconvenient time I'll let the first regen fail but I'll take it straight to the motorway on the next journey (so never more than one failed attempt each time).
I have kept my regeneration disabled and let the filter % screen get to 100%. Not until then did the ecu prompt me with a message stating dpf full. Clean soon. This is the point where you can pa k and complete a commanded regen. There is some room for play here and no need to pull over and do a commanded regen.
Speed during regen: 60 to 70mph. RPM: kept around 2k RPM. Ended at 1513 miles. Avg MPG during Regen: 10.1. Burned 2.1 gallons diesel during Regen. Big difference is regens on the 2011 were lasting around 5 to 7 miles verses 23 miles on the 2015 . All of my regens on the 2015 are taking at least 20 highway miles.
Ford puma 20 plate, did 700 miles from new and message “exhaust filter over limit service now” appeared,. Had a regen. 300 miles later, the same thing happened again. Strait to that without a “drive to clean” message both times. Had another regen, but a new car with a 1000 miles on im not happy.

The land rover would have been euro 4 or 5 I'm guessing and not as low emmisions as today's euro 6/6.2. therefore dpf regen would have occurred far less than today's cars/SUVs. If the system still needs the self regeneration process after cancelling the operation, the warning message appears. (Diesel filter regeneration required.) If the driver press the OK button firmly, it can restart the self regeneration mode again. (The Self regeneration conditions should be satisfied.)
I havent had a chance to do the dpf regen yet had to head to the other side of the country over the weekend so hopefully will do it tonight Thanks for all the tips guys. P.S get the Dice/Vida its the best investment you can make. The Exhaust Temp Sensor at the back end of the DPF had failed, (so it would not enter Regen mode), and I kept driving the truck a few days. I replaced the EGT Sensor, but the DPF soot level is apparently high enough that the truck keeps going into limp mode/reduced power, which prevents it from getting the exhaust hot enough to complete a regen.
