This game would cause my mouse to freeze in game and would crash when pressing esc or when trying to save. But I found a minor fix that lets me play the game. 1. Start up the game and when you get to the start menu exit the game. 2. Then start up the game again and load a save or start a new game. For what ever reason this works for me.

I have tried this 2 times in GTA:SA both times mouse has been operating, prior to using this file the mouse wouldn't work at all. Some people even say its ipoint.exe which is Microsoft mouse drivers but if that is the case you can just kill that rather than explorer.exe.
